CONNECTING LOCAL BUSINESSES AND THEIR COMMUNITIES

About the Paper

41 years ago, Whitey Noll, a resident of Millerstown, Pennsylvania - located in northern Perry County, came up with the idea of doing a Shopper for Perry & Juniata Counties. At the time the only Shopper in the area was from Middleburg - about 33 miles away, and it didn't really reach his area. His idea came to fruition in July of 1985, when the very first issue of "The Shopper's Remedy" was printed and distributed. Just like it still does today, it provided free classifieds to sell personal items, lists of the upcoming community events and all the current sales - and don't we all love to find good bargains? The local businesses supported the publication with their advertising dollars and became the places that also distribute it to their neighborhoods.

Today, Whitey's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Robin Noll - as owner, editor and publisher. She is a great supporter of her community along with the small businesses within them!

Empowering Local Business

The Shoppers Remedy connects local businesses with their customers through a unique, free monthly publication that champions community growth. Serving Perry and Juniata Counties in Pennsylvania, 5,000 copies are distributed the first week of every month. Local businesses generate more walk-in traffic, as the potential customers stop by to pick up their monthly "Remedy" to explore bargains, new places to enjoy in their community and keep up on events in their surrounding area. We further increase the visibility of small businesses by making the entire publication available online to reach an even broader range of potential customers - all at no cost to them!
